The last couple weeks have been consuming and emotional and bittersweet. Mostly I’ve realized that I have the best friends in the world.
I’ve also realized that Earthbound Bakery makes the best sandwiches in the world.
As our annual company party snuck up, I finally got some sort of a presentation whipped up (hence the video I posted awhile ago). Pretending I was a big-timer and getting my feet cleaned up while working on the presentation.
We threw together some (very) last minute favors – argh next year I hope we can get a little more creative. The good part was the fresh roasted coffee beans from Broadway Roastery ♥
Had an assembly line of help the day of – Joe’s head is kind of ridiculous (panorama for ya)!
The evening went off great – we rented a novelty photobooth that turned out to be quite a hit :)
Breakfast at Poached with the family :) Sluuurp. Peach Chocolate Whipped Creme Crepes
Then things got a little downerdebbieish (not mom related, just a saying folks) and some amazing people showed their colors.
I ♥ Collective. Mostly their coffee but their sandwiches are pretty tasty too.
One day our trainmaster and I got to do an emergency rip into Stoon yard and throw on some railcar seals. Not everyday do I get that privilege ;)
Lunch with a kindred soul at an amazing new cafe ♥
1920’s Dressup Event ♥ We were at the Sheraton 3 Fridays in a row! Haha :D
Saturday Cinderella got back to work. Just kidding but I did give the office a much-needed clean.
And my wonderful helper installed a redneck sink so it’s easier to wash dishes and stuff! (It’s quite tricky doing dishes in a teensy bathroom sink.)
Which means I brought my juicer to work!! Yay – this may be the biggest highlight ever. I spend more time at work then I do at home so it makes way more sense to have it at work :)
And now a sink to wash it up in! Like the title says, it’s the little things …
Been workin’ on a fun project to get our conductors reporting methodically. I’ve drawn all the stations and sidings based on Google Maps/Earth and sketches from our head trainmaster … I was about to get into it but I’ll leave it at that and not bore you to tears.
Design work = a great excuse to divert to a coffee shop for a few hours
I tried out the Rainbow Pizza recipe off Pinterest. Win ♥
Also made stuffed peppers finally. Yumm-ee :D
And a bit obsessed with kale in my salads lately. I’ve always liked it but love it even more knowing that when you massage with olive oil and let sit, it softens a wee bit. Boyfriend loves it too ♥
Speaking of delish salads, this was a lentil/goat cheese/apple/etc salad at City Perks that was such a treat. So much flavor.
Another office project that I am absolutely stoked about …
The conductor project continues (several drafts later) …
Also on the hunt for a vehicle. I want a beaut like this!! I’m only half kidding.
So far everything I’ve looked at has kinda fallen through so wish me luck :)
